Wind Dancer (Poem)

It's amazing how inspiriation works. It can hit you wherever, and whenever. Take this latest poem of mine, for instance. I conceived this while watching the 33rd Disney classic, "Pocahontas".
Remember when we're first introduced to the title character? Standing on the edge of a cliff, and looking onward she's hit by a breeze that twirls and whirls around her, almost as if the wind was dancing. Thus, a poem was born.
This poem was also entered in the Creative Festival I participated in last November, along with my "Of Love and Planets" short story. Enjoy.

WIND DANCER

Who is that in the air?
With a figure so fair?
Does anyone have the answer?!
Why, its the Wind Dancer.

Twirling and whirling,
sweeping and leaping.
Moving so gracefully,
in a manner ceremoniously.

Swaying to the tune,
of the banshee's rune.
The cool breeze flows through,
while the rhythmic patterns flew

Showing no signs of slowing,
the Wind Dancer's ballet is forever ongoing.
Like the continuous cycle of time,
wrapped in its eternal blanket, majestic and fine.

This celestial wonder of the sky,
is ever so pleasing to the eye.
Blessed are we to witness such beauty,
blessed is the wind dancer to fulfill its duty.

We could stay here and watch for hours,
at the wondrous showings of its powers.
Until tomorrow, when the stories remain mythologic,
of the wind dancers display and all its magic.
