Another Dark Knight (A Batman Day Poem)

ANOTHER DARK KNIGHT
(A Batman Day Poem)

Every time I wake up,
I see the city shake up.
Its something I'm not proud of.
And as the evil snakes up,
a lone figure breaks up.
Only to intensify their wroth.

Law enforcers fake up,
a story the press take up,
but witnesses know the truth.
The winged avenger quakes up,
this corrupt cities make up,
but everyone seems aloof.

I know this cities degrading,
as each day criminals are raiding.
Good morales and character are fading,
with each step it feels like wading.
One man dared to change the game,
and with it, received his fame,
but while he gave the unjust shame,
I feel his justice is equally tame.

For when the riddles have their day,
and the joker's come out to play,
the two faced fiends find a way,
to keep the politicians at bay.
Once warm hearts turn to ice,
criminal methods are quick, and precise.
Gambling lives at the roll of a dice,
our crusader's acts do little to entice.

Looking out, I see a sight,
crime on the rise, increasing in might.
Its something that needs to end.
Gotham City's champion of light,
escalates terror's flight.
A daily message our children send.

Stepping out, I face my plight,
of finally ending this vicious fight,
but will it ever be enough?
As the symbol above burns bright,
a thought occurs outright;
it's going to be another dark night.
