A Sound of Wonder (A Wonder Woman Poem)
It took 75 years for Wonder Woman to grace the silver screen, and now that she's finally here the world is having a glimpse of what the heroic Amazon can do. I highly recommend the movie not just as a worthy role model for women, but for all genders. Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, fights for the freedom of everyone, and in this day and age of hate, shes the kind of hero we all need right now.
To celebrate, I decided to write a poem. The story to this is the image of Wonder Woman is famous throughout Themyscira, and its her spirit that spurs on the remaining Amazons as they fight their enemies in a vicious battle.

A SOUND OF WONDER
(A Woman Woman Poem)
A
fire burns,
up
above, and within.
Escalates
and turns
the
meek against sin.
Brandishing
swords,
raising
shields,
they
charge to incoming hordes,
across
the bloodied battlefield.
They
won't stand down,
they'd
rather die.
Giving
everything for the crown.
This
is where they're enemies lie.
The
fight is long,
the
fight is hard,
but
they know they do no wrong,
when
honour is what they guard.
With
each strike,
and
with each blow,
its
a joy they almost like,
turning
back each foe.
War
has no pleasure,
especially
when blood is shed,
but
a necessity to measure,
for
the war cry “they've fled!”
The
celebration intensifies,
sounding
like thunder,
but
they'll know when looking to the skies,
its
a sound of wonder.
Their
fighting spirit was given,
from
their Amazonian princess.
Like a gift from heaven,
any
other power is less.
The
battle is theirs,
for
they showed no fear.
They
don't easily scare,
as
the presence of Diana was near.
Aided
by might,
but
more importantly her grace.
It
bestows to them the light,
to
defend every known race.
This
day was won,
but
what does tomorrow bring?
“Let
it come!”
History
will sing.
What
evil would divide,
on
its corrupt trail,
will
fall by the wonder women's sides,
and
all of goodness will prevail.
To
Diana, the strong.
To
Diana, the fair.
Her
legend is written in song,
its
chorus reaches the air.
Let
it be known through the ages,
let
this statement be clear.
When
hate boils, and rages,
Courageous
solidarity will appear.
